Fickle Creek Farm offers aspiring farmers the opportunity to learn by doing through our WWOOFer, Volunteer, Apprentice, and Employee programs.


We seek individuals who take initiative, are reliable and responsible, work well with others and individually, appreciate high quality work and products, possess a deep respect for others, and are able to lift 55 lbs. We’re looking for individuals who are excited about taking on significant responsibility.  

Full time Hourly, ~40 hr per week. Duties include daily livestock and garden activities as well as other farms activities and tasks.

Compensation: $9 per hour with limited experience; $11 per hour with experience. Merit Raises available within 400 hours service.

Benefits:   For six month commitment or more, benefits include on farm housing, up to $100 towards utility bill, and WiFi are part of compensation. committing to at least 6 months.  The housing includes private bedroom and bathroom, with shared kitchen and living room. Benefits include 25% off all meat as well as share of unmarketable eggs and produce.

Part Time Hourly, 8 to 35 hrs per week.  Duties include general garden and livestock care.

Compensation: $9 per hour with limited experience; $11 per hour with experience. Merit Raises available within 400 hours service.

Cattle & Sheep Manager, 45 to 55 hrs per week, Tuesday thru Saturday

Primary Duties include 1) grazing, breeding, calving / lambing, and finishing of 25-cow cattle herd and 60 ewe sheep flock; 2) pasture management of up to 4 grazing properties; 3) Primary representative of Fickle Creek Farm at one of the three Saturday farmers markets.

Additional responsibilities include 1) Livestock transport; 2) prepping for market which includes produce harvest and packing as well as egg packing; and 3) Taking part in once monthly Sunday / Monday chore work.

Compensation: Equivalent to $35k per year which includes on farm housing Requires at least 2 yrs cattle or sheep experience and valid & clean driving license. Opportunity for farm transition.

Benefits:   Private on farm 3 BR 1 BA house. 25% off all meat as well as share of unmarketable eggs and produce.

Note: Applicants must have worked at Fickle Creek Farm for at least  6 months. Valid Driver's License required.

WWOOFERS (Willing Workers on Organic Farms), 33 hrs per week, Wednesday thru Saturday.  Duties include daily livestock and garden activities as well as other farms activities and tasks.

Benefits:   Housing provided, wifi available, utilities provided. $200 board stipend. 25% off all meat as well as share of unmarketable eggs and produce.
